2008 Whoopie School Roundup

The new year has officially begun, albeit with a devastating hangover for me. I had plenty of time curled in the fetal position yesterday to contemplate the ups and downs of 2008, more specifically, what we’ve learned blogging here at Whoopie School this first year and why I still drink like I’m in college. All that reflecting and lying on the couch unable to move didn’t leave much room for writing, but I did come up with my shortlist of  favorite posts from 2008. Happy (belated) New Year!

1. And You Think I’m Sexy? - This post is a simple, conversational look at what we find sexy. It’s less a deconstruction of definitions of sexiness, and more a reminder that what we see in the media isn’t what most people find sexy in real life.

2. WTF To Do With a Botched Trim Job - It’s funny because it’s true.

3. Is Honesty Dangerous on the Dancefloor? - Mating rituals are fascinating to me, so a night out dancing can easily raise a lot of interesting questions. This post asks why honesty is seemingly so uncomfortable during a night out at the club.

4. How Your Partner’s Annoying Requests Can be the Key to More Sex - Seriously horrible title and narrow-minded view of women’s sexuality aside, I like this post. Today, the takeaway from it is doing the little extras to please your partner helps maintain intimacy and closeness.

5. Best Songs to Have Sex to Ever - I like my sex like I like my music - diverse, moody, and loud. This was our first post, and really fun to write and argue about.
